Ottawa Senators fans had a fun Friday night after the Sens beat the Habs 5-1 to stay alive.

The Montreal Canadiens, hoping to close out the Ottawa Senators in Game 5, came out quickly at home.

With an early power-play, they gained the momentum but once again could not capitalize.

Ottawa did not get a lot of time near Carey Price early, picking up their first shot about nine minutes into the game.

Despite the struggles, Senators' fledgling forward Bobby Ryan finally broke his 16-game goal-scoring slump soon after. Needless to say, he was pretty relieved.

Ottawa then built on the lead thanks to Patrick Wiercioch, giving the Senators the first two-goal lead of the series for either team.

Some Habs fans then criticized those inside the Bell Centre for being too quiet, which is a common criticism of Sens fans in Ottawa.

They also wondered aloud what might have happened to the Canadiens after winning Game 3.

As the Habs struggled on the power-play, Ottawa took advantage of a man advantage in the second period with Erik Karlsson scoring.

His mentor and former landlord was in the building to see it. Former Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson took a trip to Montreal to watch Game 5.

Montreal got on the board early in the third period and pushed hard, but Ottawa stretched the lead late thanks to a breakway goal by Erik Condra.

Ryan was credited with his second goal of the game during a power-play late in the game, making the final score 5-1.

Game 6 will take place on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET in Ottawa.
