Environment Canada says the temperature at 1 p.m. hit a high of 24.9 C, beating the previous record for Oct. 14 since records began at the airport in 1938. The previous high was 24.4 C, set in 1956.
With the humidex, the temperature felt more like 30 C.
The mild weather is expected to continue Wednesday and Thursday, with respective high temperatures of 22 and 20 C and overnight lows that don't dip below 16 C, according to Environment Canada.
But cooler, more seasonal temperatures are expected to return by the weekend. Saturday's high is expected to be 13 C, while overnight the temperature is expected to dip to 3 C.
