Trillium Line reopening date to be revealed Friday, Dec. 6
North-south LRT line has been closed more than 4 years to make way for expansion
OC Transpo says it will share the anticipated reopening day for Ottawa's expanded north-south light rail line the morning of Dec. 6.
A technical briefing is planned for 10:30 a.m. to go over the Trillium Line's trial running results and launch plans, according to a memo sent Thursday afternoon.
The first section of Ottawa's Stage 2 LRT expansion to open will nearly triple the length of the eight-kilometre, five-stop line that ran from 2001 until May 2020.
A new four-kilometre spur line, officially called Line 4, is also set to open between South Keys and the Ottawa International Airport.
The Trillium Line was originally meant to reopen in 2022 but has faced numerous delays. Route 2 buses have been running between South Keys and Bayview in the meantime.
