Dozens of people have been camped out for hours this morning at Rideau Hall to see Prime Minister-designate Justin Trudeau and his new cabinet being sworn in.

On Wednesday, Trudeau will be officially sworn in as prime minister after Stephen Harper hands in his resignation.

The new Liberal cabinet will also be unveiled.

The event was made open to the public and has attracted a lot of attention.

Here are the stories of some of the people lined up outside the Rideau Hall gates, which will open at 9 a.m.

Justin Trudeau has quite the number of fans, including ones who remember him as a small child.

Residents drove up from southern Ontario to camp out early on Wednesday at the Thomas Street gate.

There were political junkies from other spots in Ontario, too, including the country's capital.

Members of the public must arrive in the Rideau Hall waiting area by 9:30 a.m. ET to find a spot to watch the swearing-in ceremony.
