Anne designer has not quit: spokesperson
The Confederation Centre in Charlottetown is denying a report the designer for the revamped Anne of Green Gables: The Musical has quit.
Centre publicist Dan Wall told CBC News on Wednesday he doesn't know why the Toronto Star newspaper is reporting that designer Doug Paraschuk handed in his resignation Tuesday.
The centre is optimistic new sets and new scenes for this year's production will happen as planned, Wall said.
It's the first time the musical has had a major redesign since the 1970s.
Confederation Centre CEO David MacKenzie will be on a conference call with lawyers, production members and the family of one of the original authors Wednesday morning, Wall said. He added that an official statement will be released in the afternoon.
In an article posted in Wednesday's edition, the Toronto Star reported that the children of Norman and Elaine Campbell, two of the original writers for the musical, are unhappy with the planned changes.
