First published in 1908, the book tells the story of a young orphan sent to help an aging brother and sister on their P.E.I. farm and eventually becomes a beloved member of their family.
The film stars young Canadian actress Ella Ballentine as Anne, Emmy-award winning actor Martin Sheen as Anne's adoptive father, Matthew Cuthbert and Sara Botsford as strait-laced Marilla Cuthbert.
Author L.M. Montgomery's granddaughter Kate Macdonald Butler is an executive producer on the movie.
"It has truly been an exciting project to be part of and we are extremely proud of this impressive film with an outstanding cast and crew," said Butler in a news release Tuesday.
Filmed in Ontario and P.E.I., the movie will air on YTV on Feb. 15.
