A Charlottetown woman has pleaded guilty to stealing poppy cans from city businesses.

Cynthia Ann Curran, 31, appeared in Charlottetown court Thursday and entered guilty pleas to two counts of theft. Police said the woman posed as a representative of the Royal Canadian Legion around Remembrance Day last year and stole the cans.

Police said 15 cans were taken. The woman will return to court in March for sentencing and to enter pleas on other charges.

Money donated to the Legion's annual poppy campaign supports veterans and their families.
