Move over Road to Avonlea — Twitter users have hundreds of new ideas for P.E.I.-inspired TV show titles, thanks to the #MakePEIaTVShow hashtag.

The hashtag was started by Adam Ramsay, an Islander who works in marketing and communications.

"I think it lets people see that there's more to P.E.I. then they might assume," said Ramsay.

"The nice thing about this hashtag is if you see it somewhere else in the country … you see that Islanders have a really good sense of humour and a really good sense of humour about themselves."

Ramsay launched the hashtag Saturday afternoon. By Sunday, it was trending Canada-wide.

The tweets draw from a wide range of inspiration.

Some make reference to current events.

Many make reference to the Island's geography.

And, of course, there are lots of references to "Island-isms" and Island culture.

"It's been incredible," said Ramsay. "I've been really impressed with the amount of different tweets and different ideas that people have come up with."
