Michelle Li gives badminton workshop on P.E.I.
Michelle Li is a Commonwealth and PanAm games champion
Badminton players on P.E.I. have a chance to work with the top women's badminton player in the country.
Michelle Li will be at the training centre in Stratford Town Hall Wednesday afternoon.
Li is among the top 20 badminton players in the world and a former Commonwealth and Pan Am games champion.
"It's a very great opportunity even just watching her playing," said Kevin Yan, who runs the Stratford centre.
"It's also a good chance for me. I can learn something from her: how to do training, how to work with small kids, how to get more people to like badminton."
Yan said he's anxious to show Michelle Li how much badminton has grown in recent years on P.E.I. There are currently more than 120 players signed on as members, including 50 juniors.
Yan said all are welcome to join Li at the centre starting at 2 p.m. for some coaching and to watch her play.
