Nurse practitioner to start work in Morell

A new walk-in clinic will open next week in Morell, staffed by a nurse practitioner, says P.E.I. Health Minister Doug Currie.
Laurie Brehaut will hold her first clinic at the Morell village community office on June 4, and every Wednesday after that.
"Government is committed to ensuring Islanders have access to the primary health care services they need as close to home as possible," said Currie in a news release.
Brehaut is already working on P.E.I., in a practice with Dr. Stacey Champion and Dr. Lana Beth Barkhouse in Charlottetown. Currie said she will continue working with those doctors in addition to providing the weekly walk-in clinics in Morell.
She will consult with one of those two physicians on cases in the Morell clinic.
