PC Leader Rob Lantz says 'ethical cloud' surrounds e-gaming plan
Says premier's response to e-gaming file 'falls short of the expectations of Islanders'
P.E.I. Progressive Conservative Leader Rob Lantz is calling for immediate action to address what he calls the "ethical cloud hanging over government."
Public confidence in the Liberal government's ethical foundation has been shaken by recent local and national media coverage related to the e-gaming file, says Lantz.
"It's going to become an election issue one way or the other. And I think the public deserves, going into an election, after some of the ethical lapses we have seen take place in this government, to have all the facts on the table," he said.

In a news release, Lantz says premier Wade MacLauchlan's "response to this matter falls short of the expectations of Islanders."
Lantz has also requested that the premier direct his caucus members on the public accounts committee to end obstruction and review documentation and testimony from witnesses both from within government and outside.
"You can’t fix a problem until you fully understand it. This issue will not go away so the Premier has an obligation to explain this matter further to Islanders," said Lantz.
He says Islanders need to know that government is working in the public interest rather than the personal interest of a few.
The PC leader stresses that, under no circumstances, should Islanders be going to the polls before this is addressed.
Lantz says he has written the premier to propose the steps he feels should be taken.
