Progressive Conservative Leader Rob Lantz has filed for a judicial recount in District 13, Charlottetown-Brighton, the party announced Friday.

Lantz lost the district to Liberal newcomer Jordan Brown in the May 4 provincial election by just 24 votes.

The number of votes cast was 2,706.

"Given that narrow margin of less than one per cent it's only prudent to ask for a recount to confirm those results," said Lantz in a news release.

Friday was the deadline for recount paperwork to be filed with Elections PEI.
