P.E.I. woman, 51, dead after being pulled from ocean near Brackley Beach
‘This was not the outcome we had hoped for,’ said RCMP Chief Supt. Kevin Lewis

A woman from P.E.I.'s Queens County found in the water near Brackley Beach on Monday night was pronounced dead in hospital, RCMP said Tuesday morning.
At around 3:45 p.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a missing person whose vehicle had been found in P.E.I. National Park at Brackley Beach.
The 51-year-old woman was found in the water by a Coast Guard helicopter just before 8 p.m. AT. She was brought to shore by a New London fire department boat and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, where she was pronounced dead.
"Our thoughts are with the victim's family, as this was not the outcome we had hoped for," RCMP Chief Supt. Kevin Lewis said in a news release.
"We would like to thank our partners … that went above and beyond to locate the victim adrift in the ocean."
The search included RCMP police dog services and a drone operator; Parks Canada staff and boats; P.E.I. Ground Search and Rescue; the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre and a Canadian Coast Guard helicopter; the North Shore, New Glasgow and New London fire departments; and Island EMS.
