Police ask for public help after stolen truck found burned in western P.E.I.
Incident reported early Tuesday is being treated as isolated, police say
Police in Kensington are asking for the public's help after a pickup truck was stolen from a residential driveway and later found destroyed by fire.
Kensington police Chief Landon Yuill said the 2014 GMC Sierra was taken some time between 8:30 p.m. on Monday and early Tuesday morning.
It was found Tuesday afternoon in western P.E.I., near the Roxbury area, where it had been set on fire. When police arrived, the vehicle was still smoking, Yuill said.
He added that no one was injured in the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
"At this time, we're treating it as an isolated incident. While this isn't something we see frequently here, it's a reminder that these incidents can happen anywhere. We're urging residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities," Yuill told CBC News.

"I have spoken with the vehicle owner… They're very shocked that this happened, and concerned, but they're doing okay."
Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area or has information about the events leading up to the discovery of the vehicle is asked to contact Kensington Police Services at 902-836-4499.
