The City of Charlottetown and the Prince Edward Island Regiment museum are partnering to put on a photo exhibit called Picturing a City: We Remember Them featuring images of veterans and the city during the First World War.

The exhibit — which runs until Dec. 11 — is on display at the planning and heritage department's storefront windows on Queen Street.

The Regiment is also providing images and artifacts from the Second World War and the Charlottetown Fire Department has contributed items related to its members' service as part of the Corps of Canadian Firefighters during the Second World War.

Some of the items on display include photos of Charlottetown's veterans, training areas in the city, a Second World War North Nova Scotia Highlanders uniform, cards sent home to loved ones and even a battlefield telephone.

"These donations allow the history of the city to be shared with the public and promotes Charlottetown's heritage," said a written news release from the city.

This Remembrance Day marks 100 years since the armistice was signed bringing an end to the First World War.
