Children's Wish aims to create more lasting memories on P.E.I.
5 Wishmaker Walks on P.E.I. this month
The Children's Wish Foundation on P.E.I. is inviting Islanders to participate in its annual Wishmaker Walks on Saturday.
The foundation grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. The walks are a major fundraising event for the foundation on the Island.
"Wishes have an impact on not only the wish child but their whole family, their caregivers, their doctors, their schools. They say one wish impacts up to 100 people," said Melanie Taylor, with Children's Wish.
"[They] create lasting memories, provided hope for the family and the child."
Children's Wish has granted 10 wishes on the Island in the last six months. It hopes to raise $70,000 in order to grant more.
There are four walks Saturday, in Summerside, Charlottetown, Montague and North Rustico. A walk was held in Tignish earlier this month.
