The Confederation Centre is having a hard time finding places for its actors and musicians to stay this summer.

The centre usually offers a list of housing options for the visiting troupes.

But this year, they only have about a quarter of the spaces they need.

Stephanie Ripley, the associate producer of theatre, says fewer rental spaces are available, perhaps because more people are choosing to rent their property on AirBnB.

Walking distance

Ripley says the accommodations have to be within walking distance of the centre.

They're hoping to get furnished, vacant houses or apartments.

"We're ultimately looking for people who are supporters of Confederation Centre and want to see the festival succeed and want to see the festival continuing in the way that we have been able to," Ripley said.

Anyone interested in renting out their space can contact the centre.
