"I'm thrilled to be serving as a Youth Ambassador for the Canada C3 expedition," Kenny said in a video posted online.

"My hope is, honestly, that so many Canadians are able to take a second to recognize the collective learning experience that will be taking place across our nation."

'This isn't just a trip for those on the ship'

Anyone will be able to follow the journey online, and people can attend the 50 events scheduled along the way. The ship stops in Charlottetown on June 30.

"Remember that this isn't just a trip for those on the ship, but it's a journey for our entire country," he said, encouraging people to share their thoughts and hopes for the trip via social media.
