Scott Gaudet to run for NDP in Summerside-Wilmot byelection

Liberals, PCs expected to announce candidates this week
Scott Gaudet will be the NDP's candidate in the upcoming byelection in Summerside-Wilmot.
Gaudet won the nomination for District 21 Saturday night after no other candidates came forward, said Edith Perry, co-chair of the NDP election planning committee.
Gaudet, a letter carrier and former union president, ran for the NDP in District 21 the 2015 election and came third.
The seat became vacant when former Liberal MLA Janice Sherry resigned on Aug. 1.
The date for the byelection has not yet been set.
The Progressive Conservatives are expected to announce their candidate on Monday. The Liberals said they will announce their candidate on Wednesday.
The Green Party has already chosen deputy leader Lynne Lund as its candidate.
