Queen Elizabeth II milestone to be marked in P.E.I.

Prince Edward Islanders are being asked to share their personal stories and photos of Queen Elizabeth II as she prepares to become the longest reigning female monarch in world history.

Of particular interest are submissions that reflect royal visits to the Island

Prince Edward Islanders are being asked to share their personal stories and photos of Queen Elizabeth II as she prepares to become the longest reigning female monarch in world history.

A special event is planned at Government House in September to mark the milestone, said Lt.-Gov. Frank Lewis in a news release Thursday,

Of particular interest are submissions that reflect royal visits to the Island.

Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II when she was 25 years old after the death of her father King George VI, in of February 1952.

She last visited P.E.I. in 1973 to celebrate the centennial of the province's entry into Confederation.

Submissions will be accepted until Aug. 26 at island@gov.pe.ca.
