Early afternoon sexual assault in Summerside leads to arrest
Summerside Police arrested a 69-year-old man Wednesday following a report of inappropriate touching in a local park.

Police in Summerside, P.E.I., arrested a 69-year-old man Wednesday following a report of inappropriate touching in a local park.
Police received the call from Rotary Friendship Park at about 1:30 p.m.
The victim told police he was seated in his vehicle eating lunch when he was approached by an older man not known to him. The victim said the older man made conversation with him and then reached into the vehicle and touched him inappropriately.
Man ordered to stay away from park
The suspect then fled into the park.
A 69-year-old Summerside area man was arrested a short time later by police and faces a charge of sexual assault.
The man was released on conditions to have no contact with the victim and also to remain away from the Rotary Friendship Park.
