RCMP are searching for 17-year-old Tyson Blair MacDonald, who was last seen in Caledonia, P.E.I.

MacDonald was seen with a female of a similar age getting into a dark-coloured car on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. in Caledonia, according to police.

Scott Ferris, senior communications adviser for RCMP on P.E.I., says no Amber Alert has been issued because the case doesn't meet the criteria.

"It's not being expressed to us that there is a fear that the individual's life is in danger at this time," Ferris said Saturday afternoon.

RCMP describe the car as a four-door Honda Civic 2010-2012 model with aftermarket yellow fog lights and black steel rims of the type used with winter tires. The car has a G-class driver permit sticker on the windshield and dark-tinted side windows.

MacDonald is five feet nine inches tall with short light brown hair and brown eyes, police say. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and grey pants when last seen.

The RCMP ask anyone with information about MacDonald to contact them at 902-838-9300.
