4 Sask. men arrested in national internet porn investigation
At least four Saskatchewan men have been charged with child pornography offences as part of a national investigation into child sexual abuse on the internet.
The two Saskatoon men and two Regina men are among 57 people charged across Canada this week as part of an investigation that's been dubbed Project Salvo.
Over the past week, police in Saskatoon raided two homes and seized computers that are alleged to have contained images of child abuse.
A 28-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court Monday charged with one court of possessing child pornography, while a 25-year-old man is charged with possessing child pornography and a second count of making it available to others.
In Regina, police said they obtained search warrants, conducted searches of two homes and obtained evidence sufficient to charge two men, age 31 and 40. They've both been charged with possession of child pornography and making child pornography available.
The Regina men are scheduled to appear in provincial court next month.
More than 30 police agencies across the country collaborated on the investigation, launched in November 2008, before undertaking a series of raids this week.
