Seeing Bryan Adams perform in Regina felt like an anniversary to Cory Kingsfield.

The Saskatoon native has seen the Canadian rocker play 19 times—and Saturday's show was number 20.

"I don't watch football. I don't watch hockey. I just go to Bryan Adams shows," said Kingsfield before the concert, standing in the front row.

"I had to wait 14 hours in an airport yesterday trying to get from Calgary to here to see the show tonight."

Stadium officials estimated more than 21,000 attended the inaugural concert in the new Mosaic Stadium.

Our Lady Peace and country singer Johnny Reid shared the bill with Adams, drawing fans like Terry Young, who said he was lucky enough to score free tickets.

Saturday was the second time Young stepped foot in the Riders' new home, but the experience of being there for the first concert wasn't lost on the longtime fan.

"I've had season tickets since 1975 at the old stadium, so we had to come check this out and be part of this," he said.

Other concert-goers complimented the openness of the new facility and how comfortable the new seats felt— even the number of stalls in the washroom.

A few songs into his set, Adams himself welcomed the audience to the new $287-million digs.

Stadium officials planned for more than 150 security officers to be on duty, and police were stationed at every gate.

Saturday's concert was the second test event for the stadium. The first was a university football game.
