Food waste is a huge deal in Canada. Grocery stores throw away more than a million tonnes every year. The Deal Diva breaks down three apps that will save you money and help prevent food waste at the same time.

Did you know Canadian households produce an average of nearly 80 kilograms of food waste every year? That's on top of the nearly 1.31 million tonnes of food that grocery stores toss out annually.

All that rotting food is harming the environment, and wasting money, during a time of food insecurity and skyrocketing prices.

But there are ways to do your part to prevent food waste and save cash in the process.
