It's been a big year for Eric Taylor.

This spring, the Saskatoon alternative rocker made the short list for CBC's 2016 Searchlight competition. Then, he got a big gig at the Regina Folk Festival and now he's releasing his first CD.

Eric Taylor left Saskatoon to attend music business school in Vancouver, but later returned to his hometown to build his career in music.

We caught up with him to hear him perform one of the songs from his debut EP due out on June 10.
