Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for funnel clouds.
Sask. people share photos of funnel clouds in Sask.
Funnel clouds are possible today in east central parts of Saskatchewan.
According to Environment Canada an unstable air mass is bringing rain and thunderstorms late this morning and early this afternoon, creating conditions that are favourable for funnel clouds.
People are sharing snapshots of funnel clouds in their areas, on social media. Funnel clouds were spotted near Melfort, Elstow and Lenore Lake, Sask.
Several people shared their photographs of the weather on Saskatchewan Tornado Watch's Facebook page.
"These types of funnel clouds are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. This weak rotation is normally not a danger near the ground. However, there is a chance that this rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado," read a release from Environment Canada.
Environment Canada encourages people to report severe weather by sending an email to storm@ec.gc.ca or tweet to #SKStorm.
