The first game of the farewell season at Regina's Mosaic Stadium included a one-hour power failure.

The Rider game against the B.C. Lions was interrupted at half-time when, according to a representative of SaskPower, someone shot a cannister of confetti which hit a nearby power line.

B.C. was up 18-6 at the time of the outage.

The power failure was fixed around 9:30 p.m. and play resumed.

Mosaic Stadium is set to be torn down after the end of the 2016 season.

A new facility, west of the existing one, is nearing completion and is expected to be finished by the fall.
