Purolator and Riders team up to raise food and money for Regina Food Bank
Rider fans are asked to bring a donation or non-perishable food item with them to the game this weekend
Purolator and the Saskatchewan Roughriders are giving fans heading to the game this weekend an opportunity to give back to their community.
Every fan attending the Rider game this Saturday is asked to bring along with them a donation or non-perishable food item. The food and money raised will go to the Regina Food Bank.
"It's a good cause," said Rider wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt. "So please, Rider Nation, come down."
The initiative is part of the Purolator Tackle Hunger Program. The program started in 2003. Since then Purolator said it has helped to deliver over four million kilograms of food to food banks throughout Canada.
"We're here to support everybody, so please — you know — give back," Roosevelt said.
On Saturday the Riders play against the Calgary Stampeders at Mosaic Stadium. Game time is 5 p.m. CST.
