RCMP apprehend man in connection with possible homicide

RCMP say a woman was found dead in a home in the McLean area and they want to find John Robert Strang, 48, in connection to the incident. They believe the unidentified woman's death is the result of a homicide.

RCMP are searching for a man they say is connected to a possible homicide in the McLean, Sask., area and are asking the public for help. 

Police discovered a dead woman in a McLean area home on Saturday night, following a tip. Her identity and the cause of her death have not been confirmed, however investigators believe she may be a homicide victim.

RCMP say they want to find 48-year-old John Robert Strang in connection with the incident. He is described as 6 feet 3 inches tall with a medium build, dark hair and brown eyes.

Police said Strang is often in the areas of Canora, Sturgis and Melfort, but his current whereabouts is unknown. He may be driving a lime green 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon SUV, with the personalized Saskatchewan licence plate reading "MDPPPY".

Police are warning people that they should not approach Strang if they believe they see him. Officers believe he may be carrying firearms and is considered dangerous. Instead, the public is advised to call 911 if Strang is seen or if anyone knows of his whereabouts. 

The investigation into the woman's death is ongoing and no charges have been laid. Officers say an autopsy will be scheduled next week in Saskatoon.
