Saskatchewan's Jon Ryan started off the Seattle Seahawks incredible rally to advance to their second-straight Super Bowl.

The former University of Regina product is first Canadian grad to throw playoff TD in NFL history

Trailing 16-0 in the second half of the NFC Championship, the Seattle Seahawks looked like they were going to have to settle for a field goal. Instead, the defending Super Bowl champions called on Regina's Jon Ryan to change the game.

The 33-year-old punter, who holds the ball on field goal attempts, took the snap, ran to left and floated Seattle's first touchdown to Garry Gilliam.

A former member of the University of Regina Rams, Ryan's game-changing pass was one for the history books.

The Regina product became the first punter to ever throw a touchdown pass in the NFL post-season. He is also the first Canadian to throw a touchdown pass in an NFL game since 1993.

The look on Ryan's face when throwing the pass was widely shared on Twitter — especially in Saskatchewan. Following the win, Ryan also took to Twitter:

Last year, Ryan became the first player from Saskatchewan to win a Super Bowl title.

The Seahawks will go for back-to-back championships against the New England Patriots on Feb. 1. in Phoenix, Arizona.
