Regina storm nails city with widespread power outages

Wild weather blows out power in downtown, east and south ends

A wet and wild day of weather kept SaskPower extremely busy in southern Saskatchewan on Monday.

Just after 2 p.m., several areas of Regina lost power:

Moments later, SaskPower tweeted, "Our phones are working, but calls are coming faster than we can answer them."

The power was restored in Regina's downtown and southern areas at about 2:30 p.m.

Just after 3 p.m., power was restored in the east. At 3:45 p.m., SaskPower said it had also restored power in the southeast and rural areas.
