Ryan and his family leave from Regina for Phoenix this afternoon to cheer on his brother, former University of Regina star Jon Ryan, in Sunday's NFL Championship game.

It is the second straight year members of the Ryan family are making the trek to the Super Bowl. Last year, they travelled to New Jersey to see Jon become the first Saskatchewan-born football player to win an NFL title.

The Seahawks advanced to the Super Bow with a thrilling comeback win in the NFC Championship game. Jon Ryan's fake field goal throw for a touchdown sparked an incredible come-from-behind win.

Steve Ryan was in the upper deck for that game. For this Sunday's championship, he will have 15 members of his family cheering for Seattle.

Ryan also said some friends in Regina were able to find tickets in the past few days.

"There are probably 25 or 30 of us in total heading down from Regina so it's pretty neat."
