Country music star Jess Moskaluke is using her talents to inspire and heal people in Saskatchewan.

Moskaluke is hosting the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards in Prince Albert, Sask., where she was featured in a keynote interview before the awards show.

She was also one of several performers at the Humboldt Broncos tribute concert Friday night in Saskatoon.

"I think it was just important for everyone who was grieving to take a little bit of time and enjoy a moment and take a break from being sad for a second," she said.

"As people, we wanted to help any way we possibly could."

After the tribute concert, Mosaluke headed to Prince Albert to partake in the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards weekend, which included a keynote interview about her experiences as a country musician.

"I've definitely made mistakes, but I would make them all over again because I really think those are the moments that I learned the most. They all led to something," she said before the interview.

Moskaluke said if she could tell her younger self anything, it would be to "keep trucking."

Jess Moskaluke is from Langenberg, Sask.. She has been nominated and won numerous country music awards.

"There's going to be some really difficult moments ahead but they are critical to where you're about to be in your life and your career, and to stay true to who you are."

She also said it's important to be strong-willed as a woman in the country music industry.

"I think it's important to be headstrong in some aspects as a woman in this industry, so I try to keep that ability without being too headstrong," she said with a laugh.

Events are scheduled to take place throughout the weekend in Prince Albert for the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards.
