Sask. provincial parks set to be busy this long weekend
Provincial parks in Saskatchewan set a new record last year with close to 4 million visitors
Saskatchewan's provincial parks are open for the season as of today, and are expected to be bustling this May long weekend.
But that bustling shouldn't include booze — the province's 35 provincial parks will be imposing an alcohol ban from May 18 to 22, over the long weekend.
According to the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport, there are still some campsites available, but it recommends campers look online and book a campsite before heading to a park.
The Ministry also stated that last year, close to 4 million people visited Saskatchewan's provincial parks — which is a new record.
There will be two free days to enter the parks this year — July 1, to celebrate Canada Day, and July 15, which is Canada Parks Day.
National parks in the province are also open this weekend.
