Saskatchewan's first snowfall stuns province

Snow slammed Saskatchewan during the first week of Oct. 2016 and the province came together on social media to share photos; console one another.

Fall is over.

We're all stunned.

It could come back, but we're not sure.

All we know right now is what was once a landscape of soft, muted tones of green, yellow, orange and brown has been rudely replaced with hard grey and white.

The unwelcome weather has interrupted farmer's harvest plans, commuters' travel plans and, in general, all plans for leisurely fall walks, photos and pumpkin spice anything and everything.

Snow started piling up around Saskatchewan on Oct. 5 and it hasn't stopped coming down.

Tanisha Harrigan, who is from Ontarion, was travelling across Saskatchewan whent he storm hit. Harrigan shared several photos of vehicles in the ditch with CBC in an email to saskphotos@cbc.ca. (Submitted to CBC/Tanisha Harrigan)

Following several car accidents throughout the province, police are urging drivers to slow down.

SGI release a warning about especially slippery conditions.

We're all in this together

Thankfully, we've got each other.

People used #firstsnow to share their snow situations with CBC Radio One's The Morning Edition.

At least, the dogs are happy.

Signs of the life we had before the snow remain frozen in time.
