SaskPower has plan to keep ospreys away

Big birds nesting on special poles, away from electrified equipment
SaskPower has been having trouble with ospreys building nests on their power poles and transmission towers — but they think they've got a solution.
Osprey nests can be two metres across and when the wind blows, the material can fall down on electrified equipment, sometimes causing outages.
The birds like to build large nests up high, so to entice them away, SaskPower started putting up special 15-metre poles with fibreglass boxes in separate locations.
A test pole worked like a charm, so the Crown utility has decided to expand the program to places were ospreys are common.
