The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team is investigating the Battlefords RCMP's interaction with a 31-year-old man after he was taken to the hospital because of medical distress on Saturday.

RCMP says the man was wanted on warrants based on investigations from 2023. Battlefords RCMP determined he was at a residence on 107th Street in North Battleford, according to a news release Monday.

The Mounties say officers executed a warrant at the residence with help from police dogs after the man refused police instruction to exit the residence. The officers found him in the attic, according to the RCMP.

Shortly after his arrest, the RCMP says, the man went into medical distress and had to be transported to the hospital.
