Wascana Pool in Regina shut down on Wednesday. The city originally said it would reopen on Thursday, but that didn't happen.

On Friday, the city said the pool's main circulation pump was being fixed and replacement parts have been ordered.

"We continue to work on the exact root cause of the problems. We are utilizing internal and external expertise to help determine the root cause," the city said in a statement.

The delay was disappointing for parents and children arriving Friday morning.

Bailey Clampitt came with her friend and their two children from out of town.

"We were excited," Clampitt said. "There isn't really another pool open right now, so we'll go do something else."

Her daughter Stevie was just as disappointed.

'I was excited to go swimming but I didn't get to," Stevie said.

The city hasn't determined when the pool will reopen.

"The timeline for the necessary repairs is still being assessed. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process and will provide updates as more information becomes available," the city said.
