Air quality alert issued for northern Saskatchewan communities
Several communities in northern Saskatchewan are under an air quality alert due to smoke blowing in from the Alberta wildfires.
Uranium City, Camsell Portage seeing smoky conditions from Alberta wildfires
Environment Canada is warning about poor air quality and reduced visibility in northwestern Saskatchewan, as smoke from the Alberta wildfires blows in.
The communities of Uranium City and Camsell Portage, Sask., were both issued warnings.
The weather office noted that smoke near the ground can be a health risk, adding the smoke is especially strong near the Alberta boundary.
People should watch out for symptoms such as increased coughing, an irritated throat or shortness or breath. Anyone with cardiovascular or lung diseases is at increased risk.
