An early morning crash on the Sid Buckwold Bridge is skewing the morning commute Wednesday as police investigators shut down the bridge's southbound lane and the 19th Street underpass.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 4:30 a.m. CST in the southbound lane near 20th Street, just as the roadway crests toward the river.

"One person has been transported to hospital with undetermined injuries," police said in a news release.

From the bridge, the rear wheels of a truck and part of a black plastic bed liner could be seen just on the other side of the west side of the bridge.

From 19th Street underneath, part of the flipped truck could be seen through a stand of trees. Police taped off access to the crash from multiple approaches and were using a drone to survey the scene.

There is no word when the bridge lane will reopen.
