Final goodbyes for Saskatoon teen Brittney Jane Gargol
Police still investigating homicide
They're gathering today at a stately west-side church to begin saying goodbye.
Friends and family of Brittney Jane Gargol are beginning the heartbreaking process of laying the teen to rest. A prayer vigil is scheduled for this evening at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Avenue O S. with the funeral to follow tomorrow afternoon.
The 18-year-old's obituary describes a life that ended too soon.
Snowboarding, boating and camping
"She loved her job at the German Cultural Centre and planned to further her career, by pursuing a degree in business management," it said.
"Brittney loved doing outdoor activities with her family including snowboarding, camping and boating."

Friends say she was a young woman who had gone through some rough patches but had gotten her life back on track.
"She wanted to get into business for herself … she had plans. That's why she went back to school to get her Grade 12. She wanted something," said Atasha Storey.
Under investigation
A passerby discovered Gargol gravely injured in a ditch just past the city landfill on the outskirts of town last week. Police were initially unable to identify her.
They released photos of her distinctive tattoos and tips flooded in.
Police are not saying how she died. Her death is classified as a homicide and is under investigation.
