Beating the Saskatchewan heat

Regina residents were looking for ways to cool down in the more than 30 C temperatures.

The South Leisure Centre's spray pad was bustling with families looking to cool down to enjoy the hot summer day.

Carol Windigo and her family were among those enjoying the park. She said she has many tricks to help her family beat the heat.

"Slurpees, ice water. Drink lots of water!" she said.

Staying indoors by a cool fan is another of Windigo's favourite tricks to handling hot weather.

Danielle Castillo was also at the spray pad for the afternoon.

She was planning to take her kids for their annual trip to their favourite ice cream shop.

"Today's the day to do it!"
