A Saskatoon city councillor is suggesting a prominent walkway at the River Landing development to be named after iconic Canadian folk singer Joni Mitchell.

The "Joni Mitchell Promenade" would stretch along Spadina Crescent East from the corner with 3rd Avenue (where an office tower is currently under construction) to the corner with 2nd Avenue (near the Remai Modern Art Museum and the still-under-construction condo and hotel complex).

Here's the stretched proposed for a "Joni Mitchell Promenade." (City of Saskatoon)

The idea comes from councillor Ann Iwanchuk, on behalf of Mayor Charlie Clark. They're also calling for signs and a plaque.

Councillors are scheduled to hear about it at city hall on Monday afternoon.
