Montreal Canadiens prospect Tim Bozon awake, moving in bed

The Saskatoon Health Region says the condition of Montreal Canadiens prospect Tim Bozon continues to improve.

The 19-year-old was admitted to Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital earlier this month with neisseria meningitis. Meningitis is an inflammation of tissue around the brain and spine and severe cases can be fatal.

The young hockey player had been in a coma and doctors were working to slowly wake him.

Now, the health region said Bozon is awake and moving around in his bed. He's also trying to feed himself and attempting to speak.

Bozon in city to take on Blades

The Kootenay Ice player was hospitalized after playing against the Saskatoon Blades on February 28. His family flew from Switzerland to be with him.

Since then, the Western Hockey League has established a trust fund to assist his family with medical and rehabilitation costs.

Bozon's family said they are not doing interviews right now, but are thankful for the public support.

Bozon is seen as a promising young hockey player and an NHL prospect. 

The WHL and health officials in Saskatchewan and B.C. have been in contact since with other teams and on-ice officials who may have had contact with Bozon and provided advice on appropriate protocols to follow. The president of the Blades said his players were taking antibiotics as a precaution.
