24-year-old woman dead following head-on collision on Circle Drive

The 24-year-old, who was operating a vehicle travelling southbound, was initially said to have serious injuries, but a later release from police indicated she died at the scene.

A 24-year-old woman is dead following a head-on collision in Saskatoon on Friday. 

Police were called to Circle Drive between Attridge and College Drive, where a southbound vehicle and a northbound vehicle collided head-on in a northbound lane around 1:30 p.m., police said in a Friday afternoon news release.

The 24-year-old, who was driving the southbound vehicle, was initially reported to have serious injuries, but a later release from police indicated she died at the scene. 

Two passengers in the northbound vehicle sustained injuries that were not considered life threatening.

Traffic restrictions were in place for the majority of Friday afternoon, but were lifted by 9 p.m., police said.

Collision analysts with city police are investigating the cause of the crash.
