Reaction to Brad Wall's request to pause refugee plan
People on the streets of Saskatoon offer their thoughts on Brad Wall's request
Reaction to Premier Brad Wall's request to the prime minister to suspend the plan to bring 25,000 refugees to Canada by the end of the year has been pouring in from across the country.
Wall sent a letter to Justin Trudeau asking his government, saying he he was concerned bringing in refugees could "undermine the refugee screening process."
Saskatchewan is set to receive approximately 2,000 refugees from Syria by Dec. 31.
Several people on the streets of Saskatoon gave their thoughts on Brad Wall's request for a pause.
"Brad Wall is our premier. Justin Trudeau is our prime minister, and I think that he's got a lot of intelligent people behind him and they're not going to do anything to jeopardize our Canadian safety," Jeremy Khaladkar said.
Danielle Duperreault said she has many friends who come from areas affected by war: "It kind of hurts to see that they're being affected by it when they had no part in it," Duperreault said.
