Saskatoon Blades raise $18K for Food Bank on Star Wars night
The Saskatoon Blades and PotashCorp combined to raise $36,000 for the Saskatoon Food Bank.

The Saskatoon Blades raised $18,128 for the Saskatoon Food Bank at its Star Wars-themed evening on Saturday. It partnered with PotashCorp for the event, with the company matching the public donations.
By evening's end, the Food Bank had netted more than $36,000.
Blades fans also contributed more than 400 kilograms of food.
Blades' president Steve Hogle presented the food, and the cheque, at the Food Bank this morning.
The money came from a 50/50 draw, and from sales of specialty Star Wars-themed Blades jerseys.
