Three people from Quebec have been charged in connection to a drug trafficking investigation by the Saskatoon police, which resulted in about 100 fentanyl pills being seized.

According to a police news release issued Wednesday, officers with the force's drug enforcement street team stopped a black Volkswagen on Millar Avenue on Tuesday around 5 p.m.

Police searched the vehicle, and found a number of drugs including:

  • "More than 99" fentanyl pills.
  • 1,900 grams of marijuana.
  • 165 grams of crack cocaine.
  • 261 grams of powdered cocaine.

A 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old man inside the vehicle were taken into custody. They now face a number of charges including possession of fentanyl, marijuana and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

The investigation also led police to an apartment in the 300 block of 5th Avenue N. Once there, officers discovered more than $8,000 in cash, 62 grams of cocaine, 11 grams of marijuana and some cellphones.

Police arrested a 24-year-old woman who was inside the apartment. She's been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

All three people were due to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Wednesday.
