Man now faces a weapons charge
Saskatoon is still a small city, and despite a rise in violent crime, there really is no such thing as a run-of-the-mill weapons call — they all make the news.
Still, they typically involve knives and sometimes guns.
An incident this morning though is unusual, and involved a modern variation of an ancient weapon.
Police were called to the area of 22nd Street West and Avenue O South around 6:30 a.m. CST to deal with a 36-year-old man accused of causing a disturbance. In a news release, police said the man was carrying a crossbow.
Police seized the weapon and arrested the man. He now faces a number of charges including carrying a weapon dangerous to the public.
